20 Years Plus 10 Months In Fed Prison For Man From Springfield

A federal judge has sentenced a man from Springfield to 20 years and 10 months in prison on drug and weapons charges.

Prosecutors say Gerald L. Smith, who was convicted in July sold marijuana to an undercover officer two years ago.

Police also found about 50 bullets at his house. 

Smith has prior convictions for assaulting a man with a baseball bat  so bad bones were broken, he then robbed the victim.

Officials say also punch a woman in the head.
