Ozarks Food Harvest Gets Boost From Panera Bread
Dec. 3, 2012, Springfield, Branson, Joplin - Panera Bread is happy once again to be supporting Ozarks Food Harvests’ Backpack Program again in this last month of 2012. Guests can help provide meals to hungry children simply by enjoying a meal at Panera Bread on Friday, Dec. 7.
Panera Bread Cafes in Springfield, Branson and Joplin will be donating $1 of every Ham and Gruyere Breakfast Sandwich sold that day will also go directly to the food bank. Additionally, $1 from any Whole Big Kid Grilled Cheese and 50 cents from any Big Kid Grilled Cheese as part of a You Pick Two Meal on Dec. 7.
Since February of 2012, local Panera’s have partnered with Ozarks Food Harvest to give back a portion of selected menu items to directly support their children’s backpack program. To date, nearly $5,000 has been donated with the help of our local communities. This amount is enough to support 16 Backpack sponsorships.
The Food Bank distributes nearly 1,000 backpacks to 30 area schools in 11 counties each week, providing 375,000 nutritious meals to kids in fiscal 2010 and 2012. For information on how to support these programs or to volunteer please visitwww.ozarksfoodharvest.org.
