A local businessman is putting his hat in the ring for Springfield City Council's open seat.
Fishel Pools owner Craig Fishel says he wants to help Council stay focused on strong public safety, transportation, and job growth.
The Zone 4 seat was left vacant when Councilman Tom Bieker moved outside city limits and resigned.
Tuesday is the first day candidates can file for a spot on the ballot.
