Southeast Springfield House Fire Under Investigation

Firefighters quickly down knocked the flames that started in the basement of a house on Valley View Ave south of Battlefield in Springfield.
The Assistant Chief says there was very little damage. A woman living there was home alone. Crews were able to rescue her by running a ladder to the window on an upper floor. She was not injured.
One firefighter was treated for a dog bite.
The cause is under investigation.
