It's become an annual tradition in Springfield: The Cans Film Festival takes place tomorrow. The following is from a news release by the Salvation Army.

Springfield, MO (November 30, 2012) – Wehrenberg Theaters will host its annual “Cans Film Festival” to benefit The Salvation Army’s Tree of Lights Campaign on Saturday December 1st from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
On this day, theater guests who bring at least five canned food items to Wehrenberg Theaters’ Campbell 16 Cine will receive FREE ADMISSION to any movie that day before 5 p.m!
Guests who bring a total of fifteen canned good items will then also receive a free movie pass to use during a future visit. Wehrenberg Theaters will also award one year-long movie pass to the single largest canned food donation received during the food drive in the entire theatre circuit.
Movies showing on Saturday December 1st include Rise of Guardians, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Skyfall and Wreck It Ralph.
Wehrenberg Theaters’ Cans Film Festival is one of the Ozarks largest annual food drives and helps re-stock The Salvation Army’s Emergency Food Pantry shelves during a time when donations to help those who are less fortunate are most needed.
In 2011, the Ozarks community donated nearly 26,000 canned food items during this single-day event.
Local volunteers with UPS will help collect donations at the theater during the food drive. However, hundreds of volunteers will be needed at The Salvation Army’s main location on December 1st beginning at 3 p.m. to help sort & pack away all of the canned good items once they arrive.
