Volunteer Work Day Saturday At Frisco Highline Trail
The Springfield-Greene County Park Board says volunteers are needed to help the Ozark Greenways and the Polk County Bike Club to do some work on the Frisco Highline Trail south of Bolivar Saturday.
The volunteer work day is from 8:15am-1pm, and you should go to St. Wenceslaus Cemetery on Highway U, about 1.5 miles west of Highway 13 near mile marker 31 on the trail map. It's where U meets the trail in an area historically known as Karlin.
Volunteers will be working on repairing ditches and areas that are washed-out by the Hickory Point Bridge, as well as clearing brush and limbs.
If you're able to help, you're asked to bring water, snacks, and work gloves. If you have them, picks, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, heavy rakes, limb loppers, pruners and shovels are also needed.
The park board says you do not need to RSVP.
