SPRINGFIELD, MO – Plenty of food, including turkey and all the trimmings, will be available for the homeless and hungry at Springfield Victory Mission on Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Day.

All meals will be served at Cook’s Kettle Restaurant on 200 W. Commercial, and are open to anyone who needs a good meal, as well as those with nowhere else to go for the holiday.

The Great Thanksgiving Banquet at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve and Thanksgiving Brunch at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day will feature lots of goodies prepared by Victory Trade School (VTS) students and served by volunteers. There will also be live music. The Thanksgiving Day Celebration Service will take place at 5 p.m., and it will be hosted by a group of volunteers from Second Baptist Church.

"No one should go hungry or be alone this Thanksgiving. Come to the Mission and be blessed with delicious food and warm fellowship," says Rev. James Harriger, executive director of Victory Mission.

It costs the Mission just $2.20 to provide one complete holiday meal to a hungry person. Financial gifts are welcomed, and can be made online at www.victorymission.com or by calling417-831-6387.
