The Jacksonville Dolphins pulled ahead midway through the half and carry a 30-26 advantage over the MSU Bears at the intermission tonight at JQH Arena.

Anthony Downing's three pointer just two minutes into the game gave Missouri State a 5-2 lead, but Jacksonville's Keith McDougald answered with a three of his own with 17:43 on the clock to put the visitors up 7-5.

The Bears grabbed a brief 11-9 lead when Nathan Scheer hit a shot with 13:45 remaining, but a three pointer by Marcellous Bell put the Dolphins back on top 14-11 with 11:18 to play. They never trailed again in the opening half, going up by as many as seven.

Senior Anthony Downing has eight points to lead MSU, while McDougald has seven to pace Jacksonville.

The Bears come into tonight's play 1-1, while the Dolphins are 1-2. Tonight is the opening night of play in the Hoops for Hope Classic, with games this week both in Springfield and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
