Springfield Turkey Trot Registration And Race Day Details

Friday, Nov. 16, 5 p.m. is the deadline for early-bird registration for the 18th annual Thanksgiving DayTurkey Trot 5K Run/Walk.
Early-bird registration is available at $20/adults and $15/kids 12 and younger. Register online at parkboard.org; or in person at Springfield-Greene County Park Board, 1923 N. Weller Ave., or Killian Sports Complex, 2141 E. Pythian St., Springfield. Registrations may also beprinted at parkboard.org and hand-delivered.
Early-bird registration closes at 5p.m. Friday and registration remains closed until the day before the race. On-site registration opens Wednesday, Nov. 21, 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at the Springfield Expo Center, 635 E. St. Louis St., in downtown Springfield. On-site registration continues 6:15-7 a.m. onrace day. On-site registration is $25/adults and $20/children.
The 18th annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk begins Thursday, Nov. 22, 8 a.m., at the Springfield Expo Center. Turkey Trot is Springfield’s largest 5K walk/run of the year and the largestThanksgiving Day 5K in Missouri, attracting more than 8,000 participants in2011. All proceeds benefit the Developmental Center of the Ozarks and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Scholarship Fund. Participants are also asked to bring three non-perishable food items for the Ozarks Food Harvest. The event will be held rain, snow or shine.
Due to road construction at Trafficway and National Avenue, Turkey Trot participants are advised to access the Expo Center from the north: takeEast Chestnut Expressway to Sherman Avenue, then follow Sherman south (Sherman becomes John Q Hammons Parkway.) Parking is available in the Jordan Valley Car Park, accessible from Trafficway or St. Louis Street (St. Louis closed on race day. Use Trafficway.)
Awards for overall and master’s division winners for male and female, along with door prizes, will be presented inside the Expo Center following the race. Full race results will be postedonline the afternoon of the race at parkboard.org.
