The MSU Lady Bears are leading the 22nd ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls 36-29 at the half at JQH Arena in Springfield.

It's been back and forth for most of the opening 20 minutes with nine lead changes and five ties, but the Lady Bears, who trailed 26-24 with 6:15 remaining, put together a dominating 12-1 run to open up a nine point lead.

Senior Whitney Edie and junior Hannah Wilkerson have eight points each to lead Missouri State, followed by freshman Tyonna Snow with seven. Liz Donohoe has eight points to lead Oklahoma State.

The Lady Bears are shooting 52% from the floor (12-23), including 5-8 from the three point line. The Cowgirls are shooting 11-33 (33%) from the field.

Each team has 12 turnovers and the rebounds are even at 17 apiece.

MSU is trying to win against a Top 25 team for the first time since the 2001 NCAA Tournament, when the Lady Bears beat two nationally ranked teams (Rutgers and Duke) on the way to the second Final Four appearance in team history.

Prior to tonight's season opener, MSU honored last year's Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship team by handing out rings to players and coaches.
