A lawsuit has been filed by a man from Springfield who says he was unnecessarily roughed up during a traffic last year at Chestnut and Hillcrest.

Officer Brian Reeves, the police chief and city of Springfield are all listed in the suit.

The city says at the time of the complaint, disciplinary action was taken against the officer.

The video shows Peter Anselmo was ticketed for speeding and for not having proof of insurance.

The officer went to leave twice, but Anselmo kept questioning the charges and fines and then flagged him down and asked him if that was the officer's name on the ticket.

Anselmo says Reeves grabbed him by he jacket and shoved him.

Springfield City Attorney Dan Wichmer says they believe some of the allegations have no merit.

Assistant News Director Nancy Simpson spoke with Nathan Duncan, an attorney for Douglas, Haun and Heidemenn, who's representing Anselmo
