The wait is over for the Drury University community: Doctor David Manuel will be the new president of the university, taking over for Todd Parnell when he retires in May, 2013.

Manuel was introduced at a news conference this morning. He has served as chancellor at LSU-Alexandria.

Drury started its search for a new president in November, 2011, narrowing a pool of 65 candidates to three. Those three made visits to campus earlier this month. One of them, Dr. David McInally, accepted a job at Coe College in Iowa, leaving Dr. David Steele from San Jose State University as the remaining finalist with Manuel.
