Voter Turnout Could Hit 72% Statewide
Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan is predicting 72% of the state's registered voters will cast a ballot in next week's general election.
In a news release, Carnahan's office says the projection is based on turnout predictions submitted to the state from local election authorities.
Carnahan says if the 72% prediction comes true, more than three million of Missouri's 4,190,936 registered voters will make their voices heard on November 6th.
In the 2008 general election, voter turnout statewide was just over 69%.
Polling places will be open 6am-7pm next Tuesday. The KTTS News Team will have complete election coverage on air with top and bottom of the hour updates beginning at 7, and online with updates posted throughout the night on KTTS.com.
