Four Democrat candidates running for statewide office were in Springfield to show support for incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill.
McCaskill suspended normal campaign activities after announcing her mother was suffering from acute cardio-renal failure and chose to spend time at her bedside.
The campaign announced Monday afternoon that Betty Ann McCaskill had died at her home in St. Louis at age 84.
Among those attending the rally on Commercial Street were Lieutenant Governor candidate Susan Montee, Incumbent Attorney General Chris Koster, Incumbent State Treasurer Clint Zweifel, and Secretary of State candidate Jason Kander.
