Officials with the University of Missouri Extention are begging Greene County commissioners to treat the educational programs proportionally.

The commission however says the normally large amount of money is not going to be there in 2013 because the economy is not that strong, yet..

Greene County has in the past provided the MU Extention with $72,000 a year, while state law mandates just $10,000 a year.

The MU Extention board of directors meets Monday to go over how to deal with the possible slash of cash.
