Woman Suspected In Killing Man From Rogersville Arrested

The Missouri State Highway Patrol announces the arrest of April L. Guy, 32, for the murder of Russell A. Lawson. On October 15, 2012, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers with the Rogersville Police Department responded to a reported suspicious death at 309 South Mill Street in Rogersville, Missouri. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of the 24-year-old victim. Further investigation revealed the death as a homicide.
Investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control and officers with the Springfield Police Department arrested Guy today at approximately 11:55 a.m. Information was received that Guy, who had altered her appearance, was walking on Lynn Street, near Kansas Expressway, in Springfield. Officers made contact with Guy and placed her under arrest without further incident. Guy is being held on a $500,000 bond in the Greene County Jail on a charge of second degree murder.
The charge for which the above individual was arrested is mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the above charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
