Even after a year and a half, the city of Joplin is still picking up the pieces from the devastating EF-5 tornado last May. Many people still don't have permanent housing.

The U-S Department of Agriculture has announced an extension of recovery help for Jasper and Newton Counties. Officials say the program is geared toward those who need to build a new home or rebuild their old one.

The extension goes through September 2013.
