Springfield firefighters have rescued one man from a burning home at Fort and Walnut.

Flames and heavy smoke were rolling out of the home when crews arrived.

One person was trapped when crews arrived.  Another man had already jumped from a second story window when fire crews arrived.  He was able to walk and talk to rescue crews as he left in an ambulance.

Crews were eventually able to get the second victim on a ladder after part of the floor collapsed.  Paramedics were doing chest compressions on him as they loaded him into an ambulance.

Michelle Ciesielsky lives directly across the street.

Assistant KTTS News Director Nancy Simpson was on the scene.
