Edited news release from SoS Candidate Shane Schoeller:

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Mrs. Donna Lipe, mother of Secretary of State candidate Shane Schoeller of Willard, passed away this afternoon after a courageous three-day fight following cardiac arrest on Sunday. Mrs. Lipe, 66, passed away at Cox South Hospital, Springfield. The cardiac arrest came less than a week after Mrs. Lipe had surgery on her knee.

Schoeller issued the following statement:

“The last three days have proven what I have always known, that my mother was a strong and courageous fighter. She set a consistent example of hard work, honesty, and integrity for her children and grandchildren, other family members, and her friends. All of us loved her very dearly. She will be missed by all who knew her. We give thanks at her joy in being with the Lord.

“The outpouring of support, prayer, and kindness we have received has been deeply humbling. We would ask that people keep us in prayer in coming days.”
