Update: Charges In Willard Teen's Death
Charges have been filed against a man from Springfield after the body of 15-year-old Khighla Parks from Willard was found in Truman Lake.
The Benton County Prosecutor has charged 47-year-old Anthony Balbirnie with abandoning a corpse.
He's being held in the Greene County Jail.
Court records say the man's on-again, off-again girlfriend told investigators she saw Balbirnie wrap up Khighla's body at her home and put it in the trunk of a car, saying he was headed for Warsaw.
That was between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on September 21, the day after the teenager was last seen alive with a group of people in Buffalo.
Her body was found on September 30 in Truman Lake.
Murder charges have not been filed in the case.
