The Greene County Commission announced today that Martha Mundt has been hired as the new Budget Officer for the County.

Presiding Commissioner Jim Viebrock said, “We are extremely pleased that Martha Mundt will be joining our leadership team at Greene County given her depth of professional experience and her understanding of government finance.” Viebrock noted Mundt’s 13 years in public service most recently as Director of Finance for the City of Neosho and prior to that, several years with the City of Springfield as Financial Analyst in both accounting and budget.

Mundt replaces Jeff Reniold who resigned the position in June to pursue other opportunities. Greene County Auditor Cindy Stein has been acting as the Budget Officer during the search process. Mundt will start on October 15th at a salary of $55,869.   Her duties will include preparing budget recommendations, monitoring county revenues and expenses, analyzing the financial impact of special projects, contracts/payments, and making recommendations to the Greene County Commission based on various budget analyses. She will also monitor the financing condition of the E-911 fund and report to the advisory board.

Viebrock concluded by saying, “Given the complexity and challenges the County is facing it is reassuring to know we have someone with Martha’s fiscal experience helping guide our budget office.”
