A mandatory audit done on Polk County revealed several shortcomings.
The state auditor's office noted a worker was fired from the prosecutor's office for stealing money and a clerk in 'bad checks' has little oversight.
The auditor says the county has problems with the recycling center, fuel discrepancies and bidding.
