Truman Lake Body Is 15-Year-Old From Willard

The Benton County Sheriff's Department says the body found by boaters in Truman Lake over the weekend belongs a 15-year-old from Willard.

Investigators say DNA confirms it was Khighla Parks, last seen September 20-th.

Deputies say Khighla had a history of running away, but alwasy came home the next day.

She was last seen walking around Highways A-B and EE in northwest Greene County around five o'clock.

Her body had been weighted down in Truman lake, but came loose and was found by boaters  on Sunday.

 

If you know anything about her disappearance, you're asked to call authorities.

     Homicide Investigation
On October 5, 2012, through DNA analysis, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab
has identified the female homicide victim found earlier this week in Truman Lake as
Khighla L. Parks, age 15 of Willard, Greene County, Missouri.
Khighla Parks was last seen at 5:00pm on 09/20/12 walking in the vicinity of her home
which is located near North State Hwy AB and West State Hwy EE in NW Greene County.
Khighla Parks body was discovered floating in Truman Lake on 09/30/2012.
Investigators from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office
and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are working jointly on this homicide investigation.
