Mitt Romney came out on top - that's how Missouri Senator Roy Blunt describes the outcome of the first presidential debate between Romney and President Obama.

Blunt, who was an early backer of Romney's long before he won the nomination, says the GOP candidate got points for style and substance and refused to let the President back him into a corner when it comes to tax policies.

Blunt told KY3  a lot of people got their first look at Romney(tonight),  more people are paying attention and when you're  on the stage with the President of the United States how you handle yourself can make a difference.
