Step-Father Sentenced For Murder Of Rowan Ford From Stella
The step-father of a little girl from Stella, raped and murdered five years ago, cut a deal today.
David Spears was senteneced to a total of 11 years in prison.
He pleaded guilty to child endangerment and hindering prosecution in connection with the death of nine-year-old Rowan Ford.
As part of the deal the rape and murder charges were dropped. Lab tests from several agencies show David Spears' confession doesn't match the evidence.
His friend, Chris Collings, was sentenced to death earlier this year. He always maintained he acted alone.
After being brutally attacked, her body was put down a sinkhole in McDonald County.
