MSU's Amber Doolittle Named MVC Volleyball Defensive Player Of The Week
St. LOUIS-- Missouri State junior middle blocker Amber Doolittle was honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday (Sept. 24), marking her first career weekly MVC volleyball award.
Doolittle posted 12 blocks in two matches to help Missouri State hold the opposition to .179 hitting last week, adding a team-high 3.71 kills per set on .388 hitting on the offensive side.
Friday, the Arlington, Texas, native recorded a career-high seven blocks as MSU held the league’s top-hitting SIU offense to more than 100 points below its season average at .156, adding 15 kills as well.
Saturday, the Doolittle tallied five stuffs in a sweep of Evansville to go along with 11 kills and a phenomenal .667 attack efficiency.
The Bears (8-7, 3-1 MVC) return to action Sept. 28 with a 7 p.m. match at UNI (11-5, 3-0).
