After a cooler than normal start to the workweek, temperatures will be on the rebound through the rest of the week before another cooldown from a front that could bring showers and thunderstorms to the Ozarks.

The National Weather Service says thunderstorms will be possible from Thursday night into Friday evening as the cold front passes through southwest Missouri. As it stands now, the moisture return ahead of the front will be limited, resulting in lower instability, and the threat for strong to severe storms appears marginal. Forecasters say if greater amounts of instability develop Friday afternoon, the threat for strong to perhaps severe thunderstorms will increase.

In the meantime, temperatures will be approaching 80 around the area today, with most areas expected to hit 80 degrees Thursday and Friday.

Saturday's temps will top out in the lower 70's, with highs in the mid 60's by Sunday.
