EPA Spending $28 Million To Remove Lead In Jefferson County
EUREKA, Mo. (AP) - The U.S EPA is going to spend more than $28 million to remove nearly 430 tons of lead contaminated soil from yards in Jefferson County,
The federal agency announced the funding grant yesterday, estimating that about 800 residential properties will require remediation.
Authorities believe the soil was contaminated by old mine workings.
