Dozens Of Mayors Meeting About Future Of Mississippi River
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Mayors from 41 Mississippi River communities are gathering in St. Louis today to try and develop ways to ensure and improve the sustainability of the nation's longest waterway.
Mayors from St. Louis, Davenport, Iowa and St. Cloud, Minnesota are among those who are planning to attend the three day inaugural meeting of the Mississippi River, Cities and Town Initiative.
Representatives from the Army Corps of Engineers are expected to attend the conference.
