A man fishing in Fellows Lake near Springfield this morning hooked a white tube sock, playing home to a live hand grenade.
The Springfield Bomb Squad handed the grenade off to specialists at Fort Leonard Wood.
Crews say it appears the grenade had been in the water a long time.
