Defense Hoping Prior Confession Will Help Their Client
A trial involving a 9 year-old girl's murder from Stella will begin soon and the accused's defense is hoping a prior confession from another man will help their case.
Barry County Prosecutors say David Spears, the stepfather of Rowan Ford, is charged with first-degree murder along with forcible and statutory rape.
Spear's lawyers say a confession from Chris Colling's would help them because he confessed to acting alone. Collings was found guilty and sentenced to death involving the same case.
The trial is being heard in Pulaski County beginning this month.
