Emergency Personnel On Alert In Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Governor Mike Beebe says the state is on alert as Tropical Storm Isaac makes its way inland.
Beebe says the state's utilities brought in extra workers in case of widespread power outages. He says emergency personnel are also on alert and he's talked with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano who has offered assistance to the state if needed.
The governor says his major concern is the potential for flash flooding and possible damage to row crops in eastern Arkansas.
The National Weather Service says Isaac is expected to drop five or more inches of rain through Friday night.
