Central High School Student Hit By Car On Way To Class

Police say a student at Central High School in Springfield was hit by a car on north Benton between Central and Webster while on the way to class this morning.

Authorities tell KTTS Reporter Jason Rima at the scene the boy was rushed to a local hospital with a head laceration and an injury to his pelvis.

He was conscious and alert, and talking to medical crews on the scene.

Traffic on Benton was diverted between Central and Webster while emergency crews tended to the boy.
