At least nine different departments in Polk County are battling a grass fire north of Bolivar.

Polk County authorities say nearly 300 acres of grass has burned east of Highway D.

The fire is contained by a river, but there's concern that those flames may have endangered homes and other structures in the area.

Crews are also fighting a fire in the Morrisville area near county roads 95th and 512th.  The flames are endangering barns and haybales.

The Highway Patrol has a plane in the air with the pilot reporting to fire crews on the ground.
