Flames Engulf Dump Truck Near Merriam Woods

Firefighters from the Western Taney County Fire District responded to a Dump Truck Fire on F Hwy near Merriam Woods just after 1:00 this afternoon.
When Firefighters arrived on scene, the cab of the truck was engulfed and fuel from the truck was burning in the ditch, starting a small grass fire. Crews from two stations put it out, which took around 15 minutes.
Hwy F was closed for about an hour as crews worked to remove the truck from the road way and MODOT was called in to help clean up debris and inspect the road for fire damage before re-opening it.
All lanes of F Hwy have been re-opened to traffic.
