New rules on when and how you can use water. That's what could be coming for Springfield City Utility Customers as water levels get critically low.

CU leaders say the magic 60% percent could trigger emergency conservation plans in the next two weeks or so if we don't see a significant amount of rain. Levels at CU's reserves currently sit around 64% and is dropping by more than one percent each week.

Those plans would raise rates for customers as well. For now CU says customers can do things like take shorter showers and not water their lawn to help cut back. For complete information on the situation and more tips click here.
