Two Flown To Hospital Following Crashes At State Fair Speedway
A driver and several people watching races at the State Fair Speedway in Sedalia were hurt in separate crashes.
Spectator Jason Sivils tells KTTS News a teenage racer rolled his car and was flown to the hospital.
He says the Staff For Life was called back to the speedway for a second crash. That one happened during an event called Battle of the Badges, where area law officers race old police cars for charity.
Sivils says one of the cars lost control and went careening into a crowd of spectators. As many as five people were hurt, one critically.
The night of racing brought a tragic end to the 2012 Missouri State Fair.
