The school bells rang this morning in Nixa with summer break now, officially over.
In one of the largest school districts in the area, Superintendent, Doctor Stephen Kleinsmith says there's now over 6,000 students in the district.
He says parents and kids in the lower grades are dealing with boundary changes to even out enrollement so some kids are having to attend different schools.
Also, one of the first-of-it's kind in Missouri, Nixa is celebrating a new type of school. The John Thomas School of Discovery is a laboratory school, focusing on math and science technology.
