A couple, possibly linked to a murdered husband and wife here in the Ozarks, have had state felony drug charges dropped against them.
Chief Assistant Greene County Prosecutor Todd Myers tells KTTS News the state was not in a position to proceed and adds that charges are not expected to be refiled, although he says he's not able to elaborate.
Tony Friend continues to be held on a felony weapons charge.
Myers says Windy Friend was released from jail.
After the arrest earlier this year, bond recommendation papers made a limited reference to the 'Porter homicides'.
Becky and Rusty Porter vanished from their home near Willard last spring.
Their remains were found in the Mark Twain National Forest.
Myers says once criminal charges are dismissed on someone, what he can say is limited, thanks to state statute.
