Meningitis Vaccination Urged For Children
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Just in time for the start of the new school year, the Missouri Nurses Association says kids should be vaccinated against meningitis. The disease is rare, but it can be fatal. Health officials say it's spread by such things as sharing water bottles or drinking glasses. Those same officials say your kids should get their shots between the ages of 11 and 12. A new report says only about half of Missouri teens are vaccinated against the disease.
