Springfield Schools And City Ready For School Safety
With another school year about to begin, the city of Springfield and the R-12 district will meet with reporters today to focus on such things as pedestrian safety, school zone speeds and general safety around all school buildings.
Officials will be talking more about activated school zones, remarked crosswalks and checked signals for proper operation among other things.
The city is also completing construction of over four miles of sidewalk located within elementary and middle school boundaries.
The news conference is being held at Sunshine Elementary school at 9 a.m.
