Voluntary Water Conservation At Critical Stage
Springfield City Utilities is asking customers to step up water conservation. Spokesman Joel Alexander says current storage levels are at 65.8 percent ,about five points below what it takes to impose mandatory restrictions.
Along with customer demand there are several factors that impact the water supply. Prolonged excessive heat, and a continued lack of rainfall all impact a lack of water. If an emergency is declared, it would be the first in CU history.
