ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 4-year-old boy is critically injured after being thrown from a speeding car that crashed and overturned in St. Louis' Forest Park.
The accident happened Tuesday night. Police told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the boy's father was driving and was arrested for suspicion of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say the boy wasn't in a child safety seat when the speeding car struck a vehicle from behind. Both cars then struck several parking meters. The father's car veered off the road and went into the park, where it hit a fire hydrant and flipped over, landing upside down.
The name of the boy's 23-year-old father was not released. No one else was hurt.
