Springfield Police say a motorcycle rider is fighting for their life after hitting a car at Fremont and Holiday.

Sergeant Steve Licis tells KTTS News the car stopped at the sign before crossing Fremont, which doesn't have a stop sign there.

Licis says the motorcycle hit the car, catapulting the rider over the car and onto the pavement. They were wearing a helmet, but suffered critical injuries.

Licis says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
