Thunderstorms have been firing up as a cold front works its way through southwest Missouri.

Some of the storms so far have dropped dime to nickel sized hail in parts of Christian County. We've had reports of some storm-related power outages in the Joplin area.

Emergency Management in Jasper County reported power poles down in the city of Jasper, causing traffic backups on Highway 71.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight Sunday. It affects every county in the KTTS listening area except St. Clair.
