(Missourinet)  - Good and not so good news about Missouri's economy.

State budget officials say while sales tax collections are up about 15 percent during the first month of the new fiscal year, income tax collections are off - and income tax is the state's primary source of revenue.

The state budget director says while the economic recovery in Missouri is fragile, she likes what she's seeing in overall tax collections.

She also says many people are still concerned about the huge federal budget deficit as well as the shaky US and world economies.
