Update: Family Of Seven Escapes From Fire In Springfield

There was heavy smoke, fire and water damage, but a family of seven is OK, after a fire at their home on North Howard near Kearney in Springfield.
Firefighters say the flames quickly spread from the attic to the basement before the fire was put out
The American Red Cross is providing shelter for the folks who live there.
The home does have working smoke detectors, although someone smelled smoke and alerted the other family members who made it out safely.
