ST. PETERS, Mo. (AP) - An eastern Missouri campaign leader for presidential candidate Ron Paul has been acquitted of trespassing at a Republican caucus that became unruly in March. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 45-year-old Brent Stafford of O'Fallon was acquitted by a municipal judge in St. Peters on Tuesday. Stafford was arrested on the sidewalk outside a St. Charles County caucus that broke up in disarray March 17. He was trying to get caucus participants to reconvene at the Francis Howell North High School gym. The caucus broke up after disputes as Paul supporters yelled objections to decisions made by caucus organizers.
