Garcia Will Start Saturday In Springfield

Cardinals lefthander Jaime Garcia will advance to Class AA Springfield and make a start there Saturday as he moves closer toward a return to the big-league rotation.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Garcia threw 2 1/3 innings Monday for the Cardinals' Gulf Coast League affiliate. He threw around 45 pitches, and because the goal remains to build up his arm strength the Cardinals will have him come back in a schedule similar to the sessions of spring training.
Garcia will attempt to reach more than 60 pitches in this next outing.
