GLENDALE, Mo. (AP) - More than 20 investigators are probing the killings of a Missouri mother and her two children near St. Louis, but officials say it's too early to draw conclusions about what caused their deaths.
Authorities say Mitch Murch called police Monday after hearing gunshots inside the family's house. He told authorities he found the bodies of his wife and two children, all with gunshot wounds.
Forty-two-year-old Catherine Murch was pronounced dead at the scene, and her two children, 10-year-old Mitchell, and 8-year-old Mary Claire were pronounced dead at hospitals.
Police originally said the deaths were being investigated as a case of murder-suicide. Lt. Tim Fagan of the Glendale police said Tuesday that an investigation continues.
Police have interviewed Mitch Murch, but Fagan says he isn't considered a suspect.
